SWIM SCHOOL CLASSES

SwimCare Swim School provides swim classes for babies, kids swim classes and adult classes. We stay up to date on all the teaching methods to ensure we use the latest techniques. Our classes provide a lot of fun, but the primary focus is on safety. We pay attention to the individual needs of every child. That’s why we don’t offer classes with more than four children (except with baby and squad classes). Your child receives maximum benefits from this attention. Teachers don’t miss or overlook students due to overcrowded classes.

If a child experiences a bad lesson, we offer make-up swim classes. This is an unlimited courtesy to our customers. We prove we are dedicated to your children and their ability to swim. We want to take them through every level as they get older. We take great pride in our teachers, many of them have been with us for more than ten years. Every instructor with SwimCare also has AUSTSWIM qualifications. Please don't hesitate to enquire online or give us a call  at 02 6658 1114 for any queries you may have.

Benefits Of Kids Swim Classes

Babies don’t have a fear of water. The earlier you introduce swimming to them, the better results you see. With a baby class, you also experience great bonding between the parent and child. We take children through the various stages of lessons to maximise their learning potential. There’s no limit to where your child can advance to.

Because all instruction starts with safety, you gain peace of mind when your children encounter water. Swimming is also excellent exercise and easy on the joints. Many health benefits come from swimming, including asthma management.

1. Increase In Physical Exercise

  • If you’re looking to boost your child’s health and activity levels, then swimming is a fun sport to consider.
  • As a low-impact cardio exercise, swimming is accessible to people of all ages and with underlying health conditions. The physical exercise gained from swimming also aids flexibility, strength and endurance.

2. It Builds Muscle

  • Swimming requires you to use a range of muscles throughout your body. For children especially, this means they can improve motor skills that aid development.

3. Swimming Improves Sleep

  • Whether you’re struggling to sleep after staring at your office computer for too long or you have an over-active child, swimming improves sleep for everyone.
  • It allows you to wind down after a hard day at the office and allows children to exert endless amounts of energy in a productive manner.

4. It Builds Confidence

  • Some children struggle when it comes to exiting their comfort zone and trying new experiences. Swimming lessons help reduce this by prompting children to overcome their challenges in a safe and respectful environment.
  • Swimming is fun, which reduces a child’s anxiety and allows them to pursue new activities with a sense of accomplishment.

5. Swimming Builds Character

  • It’s not just about the act of learning to swim when it comes to our swimming classes.
  • Children will learn the importance of resilience, hard work and perseverance – all important life skills that contribute to positive character building.

Our students have fun and experience water in new ways. If we don’t provide something you need, let us know. We aim to accommodate all of our guests.

Small Swimming Classes Coffs Harbour

As mentioned above, at SwimCare Swim School, we always make sure our standard kids' classes only go up to four per class. This is so we can concentrate on delivering the best results for everyone there – we do not let anyone get lost in the crowd. Our swimming lessons focus on quality over quantity, and we believe this is extremely important for swimming.

Swimming is meant to be a lifelong skill, so we focus on making sure every child comes away from it as confident in their abilities as they need to be. This means you can get all the benefits of a private class but with the extra advantage of a social atmosphere – and the lessons can be tailored and paced to meet everyone’s own needs.

Large class sizes in any setting can make a child feel like just one of many, but our swimming classes make sure that they understand their importance. On top of this, it allows for a deeper rapport between the instructors and students, which naturally means your child will work harder than in a bigger class.

Why You Should Have an Adult Class

Not everybody has the opportunity to learn as a child, but swimming is still an essential ability. For that reason, we also offer adult classes to help people of all ages learn front crawl and breaststroke. Even if you already think you have a decent ability, you could always discover more techniques.

Swimming offers plenty of benefits at any age, so whether you’re new or just want to brush up on your butterfly stroke, you would be making the right choice by joining our adult classes.

Expanding upon the health benefits of swimming, it is an effective way to get your regular dose of cardio. Even just the presence of an certified instructor could give you the boost you need; people often work harder in classes than on their own. The effects are not just physical but mental too – swimming is a great way to unplug from the outside world.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which goggles are best for kids swimming classes?

    • We always recommend goggles with clear lenses, as dark lenses can become much more difficult to see through if they get steamed up.
  • What is the AUSTSWIM qualification?

    • AUSTSWIM is the leading Australian certification for Swimming and Water Safety Teachers, with over 35,000 certified instructors across the country to ensure you and your children get the best care. All of our instructors hold this qualification.
  • How many lessons does it take to learn how to swim?

    • This varies for everyone whether they are an adult, a child, or a baby.
    • Everyone has different needs, and part of why we offer small classes for kids is so we can meet those needs; the extra time given to each child means they should be able to progress faster, but there is no set number of lessons.
  • Can swimming improve my mental health?

    • Absolutely. Swimming is a great way to actively improve your mental health. It can help to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as build up body positivity and self-esteem in those who lack confidence. Swimming currently helps to boost the moods of millions of people around the world. Not only is this a massive benefit to the activity, but it is also both therapeutic and relaxing in general.
  • Are there any alternatives if I don’t want to wear a swimming costume?

    • If you are body conscious and don’t want to show it off, there are plenty of other more modest alternatives to a swimming costume. Whilst you can be assured that many people share your insecurity with you, there is a large range of swimming t-shirts, cover-ups and wetsuits which are all fine to use here at our pool. Some venues allow you to take a towel to the poolside, so you can wrap it around you as soon as you emerge from the water. We understand that not everyone finds swimming accessible due to their personal challenges, so let us know if we can help in any way before booking your lesson.
  • Do you offer lessons to seniors?

    • We pride ourselves on offering a service to suit any member of society, no matter what their age, so it does not matter if you think you are too old to swim – we can assure you that you’re not! This is a hobby that is suited to all kinds of people, including people with various health problems or children under the age of three, so the option is never closed off if you would like to learn.
  • What should I bring to my lesson?

    • At the minimum, you should bring a swimming hat, goggles, your costume and a large towel to get dry with. You might also want to bring shampoo, body wash and conditioner to clean off the chlorine in our individually sexed changing rooms afterwards, and some hair ties to keep long hair up and out of the water.
  • Should I enrol my child in one-to-one or group lessons?

    • This is completely up to you as a parent or guardian. If your child needs additional support or help in their learning, a one-on-one session might suit them better, but they will feel as if they are part of a team by joining a group. They might even make a new friend!
